The Vietnamese music industry around the world recently mourned the passing of one of beloved songwriter, Nguyễn Văn Đông. Known for songs such as “Chiều Mưa Biên Giới”, “Khúc Tình Ca Hàng Hàng Lớp Lớp”, “Nhớ Một Chiều Xuân”, and “Sắc Hoa Mầu Nhớ”, Nguyễn Văn Đông has written a number of very well-known Vietnamese songs from the pre-1975 era that continue to remain popular among audiences today. To commemorate the life, career and legacy of Nguyễn Văn Đông, Trung Tâm Thúy Nga’s upcoming show Paris By Night 125 will be lovingly titled “Chiều Mưa Biên Giới: Tưởng Nhớ Cố Nhạc Sĩ Đại Tá Nguyễn Văn Đông”. Paris By Night 125 will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Saigon Performing Arts Center in Fountain Valley, California. There will be two shows, one at 2PM and one at 7PM.
Of course, Paris By Night 125 will feature a wide selection of songs from Nguyễn Văn Đông’s catalogue of music, performed by many Paris By Night singers. Currently, singers including Hoàng Oanh, Hương Lan, Thanh Tuyền, Anh Khoa, Vũ Khanh, Như Quỳnh, Minh Tuyết, Don Hồ, Kim Tiểu Long, and many more are scheduled to perform, along with accompaniment by The Brothers Band, who have already appeared in some of Trung Tâm Thúy Nga’s live shows. Paris By Night 125 will surely be an emotional and nostalgic show, especially for the generation of Vietnamese that grew up listening to his music in Vietnam.
